Which states qualify for the program?
This program is available in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, South Dakota, Missouri, Nebraska and Kansas on qualifying insured non-irrigated corn for grain acres. It is also available for qualifying insured irrigated corn for grain acres in Nebraska and Kansas.

Which types of insurance policies qualify?
An Actual Production History(A{H), Crop Revenue Coverage (CRC) or Revenue Assurance (RA) plan of insurance that provides coverage for corn for grain on eligible acreas qualifies for this program.

Which insurance companies will offer the BYE in 2009?
All approved insurance providers (AIP) and their representing agents will have the opportunity to offer this program. See your agent for specific availability.

How and when do I sign up?
Farmers should speak with their insurance representatives regarding information and details related to sign-up and qualifications. The final required documentation will be due at the time they provide their acreage reporting information.

Which products are approved for the BYE?
All hybrids containing YieldGard Plus with Roundup Ready Corn 2, YieldGard VT Triple® technology, or YieldGard VT Triple PRO will qualify. These hybrids are available from over 250 seed companies.

What do I plant to qualify?
In 2009, qualifying insured nonirrigated corn for grain acres are eligible in all approved states. Qualifying insured irrigated corn for grain acres are eligible in only Kansas and Nebraska. Plant at least 75 percent of your total non-irrigated and/or irrigated acres (in Kansas and Nebraska) corn for grain acreage at the insured unit level with YieldGard VT Triple, YieldGard VT Triple PRO or YieldGard Plus with Roundup Ready Corn 2 hybrids.

How much is the discount?
While there are a number of variables that are grower-specifi c, the average total cost of a policy premium for the 2008 BYE Pilot was reduced by more than $3 per acre on insured acres purchasing APH, CRC or RA policies.
