Grower Bill Helpingstine of Salem, Illinois, was the winner of the YieldGard VT Triple™ Grain Hopper Sweepstakes sponsored in conjunction with AgWeb. The winner was announced at Monsanto’s exhibit at the Farm Progress Show on August 30 in Decatur, Illinois. As the winner of this sweepstakes, Helpingstine will enjoy a one-year lease of a semi-truck with grain hopper.

Not one to usually sign up for contests, Helpingstine says that he took one look at the prize and decided to try his luck. “This is the first thing I ever won. You couldn’t ask for anything better than this,” he explains.

Growers could sign up for the contest by attending one of the ten YieldGard VT Triple on Tour events, selected local field days, the Farm Progress Show or they could enter online at AgWeb.com.

Helpingstine decided to plant all DEKALB® hybrids with YieldGard® Plus except for his 20 percent refuge acres this season. “YieldGard Plus has really performed well for me in the past and I’m expecting it will yield well for me this year despite the dry conditions,” he states.

He says that he plans to plant YieldGard VT Triple next season. “I’m a believer in the YieldGard technology because it has preformed well on my farm, and I’m looking forward to taking it one step further with the YieldGard VT Triple next season.”
